Taking a Break to Catch My Breath

Two weeks ago, we had a freak windstorm here in good O' sunny Southern California. I was forced to zigzag my way to work through side streets, and the famous Colorado Blvd, home of the Rose Parade. It was then I was reminded of just how quickly time fly's.
For a second I was thrown off when I saw the city workers setting up the stands, and the sound booths that would soon be filled with camera crews and various hosts. Has it really been a year? The thought lingered as I realized it had been exactly one-year since I had taken the way of Colorado.
The past year has been filled with adventure, challenge, and hope. All the things one expects to happen in the course of any length of time. But how is it that I arrived to the place where I am noticing that time truly does speed up the older we get? Surely by now there are only 15; maybe 18 hours tops in a day - right? (I got the, "right?" thing from being in California for two -years. Although, it must be everywhere else - right? Everywhere accept the small town I came from in Oregon.)
Even as I sit here, my mind wanders into next year, and I have to force myself to sit in the now.
Breathe. Relax. Enjoy.
Life has settled into a pattern of crazy-busy, but I love it! Who would have ever thought I would finally have a book published? Who would have thought Ken McCreless, and I would end up working together? Who would have thought I would end 2011 on such a high note - you must know, I am referring to being a grandma! My daughter and her husband are having their first child, she is 10 weeks along! WOW - amazing. There are not enough words to describe the joy my husband and me are experiencing.
Breathe. Relax. Enjoy.
While here, in the now, I am reminded of how much I love and appreciate my family who is made up of the WryteStuff, and the only downer to being crazy-busy, is I do not get to come visit as often as I would like. Thank you for being an incredible part of my life!
Breathe. Relax. Enjoy.
Okay, I am done. I cannot sit without wandering any longer!
In two weeks I will be off to Oregon to visit my children. I have a lot of things that need to be done before then. I cannot wait! It will be tough leaving my husband behind; okay, maybe not that tough, but still, I had to say it.
Lord willing, next year this time...well, I will not say it aloud just yet.
Merry Christmas - may your new year be filled with adventure, challenge, and hope so that you become the best person you can be.
Thanks for spending a few moments with me. I hope it will not be as long before the next time I can visit my pals.
Blessings to you!
