So many thoughts, so little space
Of one thing I'm sure - this is the place.
It's true I know, a poet I am not
Though many other lessons
this site did wrought.
Whew! Trying to summarize my feelings as so many amazing poets do is tougher than I thought. I suppose I will stick with what works best - being me. For better or for worse. This my friends, is what I love most about SearchWarp turned Wryte Stuff. It is a place where we can try our hand at writing and learn as we go along. It's a place where you can discover your style and gain wisdom from the wonderfully talented writers who are willing to give constructive criticism and helpful hints - and this is just the beginning.
It's more than a forum for writers, it's a community; it's a family. We laugh, we cry, we argue,we love, we learn, and we do it together. For me, it's a picture of the world, with all its diverse members and topics we gain a realistic view of how we can be united while not giving up our own convictions.
If these were all one gained from being a part of this family, it would be enough.
(But wait there's more - sorry, that commercial just popped into my head.)
There are many writers who have had other doors opened to them. From paid writing assignments in magazines, or earning money from the adds here on the Warp - err, Wryte Stuff. And most exciting, have had their work published. The great thing about being a part of this family, is we support one another with encouraging words and many others show their support by purchasing these books.
I am forever grateful for all the benefits I have reaped. From growing as a writer, to gaining treasured friendships, to having the courage to step out in faith because of the inspiration of others.
Though the name has changed, the song remains the same. Nevertheless, along with the new name, I'm praying for new members who will join us in song.... And speaking of songs, I can't help but remember the one I dedicated to Bruce, our amazing friend and leader. Once again, it seems appropriate:
I'd like to buy the world a home and furnish it with love
Grow apple tress and honey bees and snow white turtle doves.
I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony
I'd like to buy the world a Coke and keep it company
That's the real thing
What the world wants today (Coca-Cola)
Is the real thing.
I'd like to teach the world to sing (Sing with me)
In perfect harmony.
I'd like to buy the world a Coke and keep it company
That's the real thing.
