The Amazing Word of God is a Divinely inspired work of poetry, which brings a new dimension of beauty and insight to the Bible.
In the beginning God created the heavens
And then He created the world
And as His Spirit hovered over the waters
His magnificent plan unfurled
Now the earth was formless and empty
Darkness was over the deep
But as God continued to work His creation
Not long…would it sleep
Each account from Genesis to Revelation flows with grace, but most impressive is that the truth and context of Scripture is retained – albeit in summary form.
When Noah and his family finished building the ark
The animals began to arrive
Seven pair of every clean and two of every unclean
God sent…so they would survive
There were lions and elephants and rhinoceros
Cattle and butterflies too
Wolves and turtles and cats and dogs
Giraffe and kangaroo
Each time I read from this book, my heart was renewed for the beauty and power of God’s word. It inspired me to open my Bible and read the entire account of what was addressed in the poem. It led me to new thoughts and inspired new lessons to pass along to my students.
I also found myself repeating these poems at different times during the day, which in turn helped me to memorize new passages of Scripture including details on each event.
When King Ahaz was the King of Judah
The Lord spoke through Isaiah of a sign
It was a promise for the house of David
Concerning a future time
“A virgin will be with child,” Said Isaiah,
“And she will give birth to a Son
And she will call Him Emmanuel,” he said
Speaking of…the One
***
For unto us a Child is born
To us is given a Son
And the government will be on His shoulders
He will be the One
His name is called Wonderful…Counselor…Mighty God
Everlasting Father…Prince of Peace
And of His government…there will be no end
It will ever increase
Half-way through, I had to talk with Penny. I had no doubt that she would be a strong woman of faith and strong character. Her commitment to stay true to the Word of God was impressive and encouraging. “I was in the shower and God spoke to my heart and said, “I want you to write the Bible in rhyme” Were her words, when asked how she came up with the idea.
Just as I suspected she did not take the credit for the ideas, only that she was obedient. By the time I was done, my mind filled with many thoughts and visions’ keeping this book to my self was not an option.
It is:
• The perfect book to read to your children as an introduction to Bible study.
• The perfect book for your coffee table for quick doses of encouragement.
• A wonderful way to start a group Bible study.
• A wonderful tool for family devotion and times of fellowship.
• A wonderful commentary on the Bible to assist in understanding difficult passages.
• A wonderful gift for someone who has never read the Bible.
Not only is my love God and His Word refreshed, my love and appreciation for poetry has climbed to new heights. Combining poetry with the word of God is Divine.
"I am the Alpha and Omega
The First... and the Last
The Beginning and the End" He said for He
Is God of the future and past.
Read from the Prophets, the account of Daniel, Jeriamiah and more. Read the accounts of the miracles, read the lessons from Jesus and the Apostles - She paints a beautiful picture.
I can hear it on tape; I can see it in a drama - who knows what's in store. Check with Penny, I'm sure she would be just fine with using this as a resource for the work of ministry should you have thoughts and visions of your own.
Penny has fast become a good friend and prayer partner. I am thankful she answered the call to write this book and I believe you will be as well.
