1 Peter 5: 8-9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
There is some comfort in knowing that we are not the only one being attacked. On the other hand, it's not like we want others to have problems - so what do we do? We must always be on the offensive. Watching, as the word says. One of the easiest ways to fall prey to the enemy is not taking the time first thing in the morning to “put on” Christ. ( Eph. 4) When we start the day in our own strength, it is easy for us to get caught up in our problems and we are quickly weighed down. However, as we stand strong and put on Christ, our focus will be on the solution and our joy will carry us through another day with victory. Jesus guaranteed we would have trials in this life. Why then, are we so quick to be surprised when they come our way? Because it is natural to look to the flesh first. Yet as believers, we have the ability to live in the super-natural. May we train our hearts and minds to look to the Spirit. This way, we will not get caught up in circumstances but we will be caught up in Christ. Which do you choose?
Lord, today my focus will be:
Father, help me to remember that you have given me everything I need to live a victorious life. Help me to walk in the Spirit so that I will not focus on the cares of this world. Give me the balance Father. Help me to resist the tactics of the enemy and to stand firm in Christ. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Even if I had enemies (if I created any by my own actions) I would still wish that they were my friends.Hi DM. I am with you on this one. I know that in the past I have made enemies as a result of my own actions. But I have done all I can to right my wrongs. The problem is, sometimes it can never be the same. BUT the one enemy that I have, as in the case of the passage, is because I am doing it God's way, and for this, this is one enemy that I do not wish to have as a friend - for then God would be my enemy. No thank you :-) Blessings to you! Thanks for reading and commenting.
Thanks - this is just what I needed today my dear Sister!Hi MJ, so blessed to hear it helped :-) love you!
