A Prayer for the People of Japan and the Aftermath of the Earthquake and Tsunami

It has been difficult to focus on my daily routine in the comfort of my cubicle this morning. Calling clients to request payment on overdue invoices seems wrong.  AM break came slowly as I struggled to keep my mind from wandering.

So for these next 10 minutes, I offer my thoughts and prayers to the people of Japan:

Heavenly Father,

May you comfort the people of Japan. Give them wisdom beyond measure as they struggle through this difficult time. Words escape me - but I know you hear my heart's cry - mine, and so many others around the world.

Bring together all of humanity to do our parts to help. Give wisdom to the leadership - point the way to begin the clean up and the healing process.  Relieve them Father.  I know we live in a fallen world, and these types of events or inevitable, but it doesn't lesson the pain and the many questions of why.

I pray along with all who would agree - send your angels to assist in a mighty way, and may many turn to you for comfort and understanding.

In the name of your most precious son, I pray. Amen.

Hi David - and we need to continue to pray as more and more issues come to light. You are right, He is on their side - May the leadership and all who are coming together to aid in this tragedy look to Him for wisdom and may God give them a way to deal and resolve the power plant issue.

Hi MJ. It is hard. We look at the scene and it tugs at the heart, but we cannot grasp the depth of it and what all of those people must be feeling. The are cold, hungry, and mourning the loss of loved ones. I can't imagine, but I can pray and know that our Lord knows. I'm praying many call out to him as we see another sign that this world is living on borrowed time and Jesus is surely coming soon. So much prophecy coming to pass before our eyes. May we be ready for His return when all things will be restored and evil and decay will cease.

Tears, tears, tears... words escape me too Teresa when i see the pictures of the devastation! My heart cries out for the people of Japan... i feel a numbness inside, like a broken heart! Your prayer said it perfectly... and i pray much good would come out of this tragedy... i pray as individuals we would not forget just how fragile life is and that we need to be ready at any given moment to meet our Maker! You are right T, prophecy is just passing before our eyes and we are living on borrowed time... the time is near, let us not forget, and call on His name NOW!!!
