Why I Hate Laptops

Hi Friends,
This is more of a rant than anything else. I d
on't even think it techinically qualifies as an article. It contains nothing beneficial or insightful to anyone. No worries though, because I can't rant for long or this stupid thing will time out on me....again...and this will be lost....again.
As some of you know, I have been out of town. My daughter, bless her heart, let me borrow her laptop so I could continue writing while away for nine days. What a joke!
I have tried several times to copy and paste an article into the submit page. I kept getting kicked off line. Apparently it has something to do with having a works processor and not a word processor. So, I e-mailed "Da Man" (Bruce), and asked his advice. He suggested I try using the notepad. Well, I was too lazy to try that, so I asked another friend for her advice. She suggested notepad as well. Okay, fine, where the heck do I find notepad? She tells me to go to programs - it's easy, she says. HA! I CAN'T FIND "NOTEPAD". I know you are not supposed to use all caps when writing because people might think you are yelling at them....well.....!
The other thing that is ------ me off, ( I don't use bad words) is the fact that every time I click the "X" in the right hand corner of the screen, it doesn't just close the current screen, it logs me all the way out of the net!! What's the deal?
Not only that, the scroll thingy is way too senstive and likes to take me places I do not wish to go! By the way, this is the second time I have written this rant because I don't know how in the heck I made the screen look like a word doc instead of being inside the submit screen. This is ----- me off too, because the first rant sounded a lot better than this one.
There's more, but I am running out of time and if I have to do this a third time, it might be rated R for language. So I am closing for now.
OH! And never mind the fact that my son is in Arizona and he has not called me once since we left him there 24 hours, 15 minutes, and 12 seconds ago!
I should be back to my normal self when I get home in 5 days. Come on desk top!!
Thanks for being here for me, you are a lot cheaper than a therapist!
Oh! I think I should get five stars for blood, sweat, and tears, just to stay connected to all my fellow warpies!!!!
Your friend,
T

More commentsHi Teresa.I loved this rant. I could just hear you and see you working through all your frustrations. Good Stuff! Are you sure you never use "bad" words? :)By the way, you've just hardened my determination to never become one of the mobile-ly computable people. Besides, the computer already takes up enough of my time chained to the den/library/office as it is.Thanks for the fun,Love and hugs,DianneHi D! Well, okay you got me, once in a great while, If I really get mad, then the "S" word will come out. Unless of course my hubby decides to get another tattoo, than its all over! Gutter mouth :-)I am glad you enjoyed my rant. Love and hugs right back to you and have a fantabulous week! T
Teresa,This was wonderful! And, of course you can rant. I have become a laptop afficionado since my husband confiscated my powerhouse PC. I never use a mouse because I've gotten so comfortable with the way my little Inspiron works. Unfortunately, whenever I print something, I have to email it to Phil to print it out in the other room. I know, I know -- we could do wireless but that is another expense. They say that necessity is the mother of invention? In our house, necessity is the mother of needing to learn how to use a laptop when you want to be on a computer and your husband is always there! Thanks for the rant and Ken is right...download a word program. It will make life easier.NancyHi Nancy, I guess I am pretty fortunate that my husband doesn't use the computer. Occasionally he will use the google world map when he remembers how to turn the power on. :-) When I get home I am going to install the word program on Britt's laptop. Hugs, Teresa
Had me smilling the whole article--hope you get a new laptop or get home soon beore you DO start using bad words--good atricle and hope your son got a hold of you.Hi Steve, glad you enjoyed it :-) My son finally text me to say how much he loved it there. So I am a happy girl again. I still can't wait to get home so I can get back to normal. Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful week!
That's a good one. When I let my girlfriend use my laptop we used to end up fighting because she just wasn't used to it. I know how it feels, because even I struggled hard with mine when I was using it the first time. :) Thoughts well written, and also a good article to make people smile for a change. :)Hey mystic, thanks for reading, I am so happy to hear I am not the only one with issues learning how to use them. Makes me feel a little better :-) Glad you enjoyed it. Blessings to you! Teresa
"The other thing that is ------ me off, ( I don't use bad words)."Yay, I'm the only one!Good article.Hi Cameron, thanks for reading and the comment :-) Blessings to you! Teresa
I keep telling everyone to buy an Apple laptop and throw their PC laptops away, but will they listen? NOOOOOOOOO!! :-)hahahahaha David, now this is funny :-) Blessings to you! Teresa
Teresa, I feel your pain. At least I could as I read your article. Hope it all worked out in the end. Technology is frustrating at times, as is life! :)Hi Brianna, thanks for reading :-) Everything worked out. I was just a little frustrated. haha
Dear Teresa,I am in the same dilemma, to take my bulky desktop with me or my flat laptop to where i will be staying in the next few weeks. I will decide soon enough. LOL.I finally figured out how not to deal with that "very sensitive scroll thingy" of my laptop. I bought a mouse and a USB for my laptop. HA!Best to you and yours,NenitaTake the desktop !!!!!! I definitely know what I will be getting when I finally get my own laptop. Thanks for reading :-) Hugs!
T, if I could give you a rating of 10-stars, I would! You have me over here, LOL. But, I can feel your pain ... I've been down that road before (smile). And for someone racing against a clock and a horrid notebook, you've done well on your rant. Somehow, I'm wishing that I could have read the first two...Hey Ronyae, thanks girlie, I'll take 10 stars :-) Trust me, you would have enjoyed the first two. hahahaha. Blessings girlfriend! TI'm LOL with you, T!
i cant stand laptops especially the builders you would think after decades of work they would come up with better cooling systems but nope the cooling systems in ALL laptops are nothing but a joke and they builders need to be expedited for being so garbage at their "career" cooling and performance suck on all laptops so why anyone gets them idk the smart phone is 10x better for business n yet people still pay almost a grand for a computer that will die in a year n a half because lets face it when you try to open the laptops up it will not allow you to. meaning you HAVE to pay money for a prof. or buy a new one. and i bet thats why they wont upgrade cooling in it because theyd lose money and god forbid they lose some money to make the customers happy LAPTOPS ARE NOTHING BUT A JOKE OF A PRODUCT AND EVERYONE WHO BUILDS THEM NEEDS TO BE EXECUTED FOR BEING A PIECE OF TRASH AT LIFE!
