FRIEND = A person whom one knows well and is fond of.
FRIENDSHIP = An attachment between friends.
We are all familiar with these terms. Nevertheless, what does friendship look like? Is it a relative of Love in that it is not only a noun but an adjective as well?
A few days ago, my best friend had a birthday. With my son's upcoming graduation and family coming in from out of town, I completely forgot to put a card in the mail to her. So I figured the next best thing was to pen these thoughts to let her know that she is the definition of a true friend whose actions always speak louder than words – even if I still can't get her to drive all the way to Oregon to see me….
Friendship means:
Passing notes in class.
Giving your friend a handmade birthday hat with a big pompom at the top.
Giving your friend bags full of brand new clothes when she can't afford any.
Driving around town with a big purple bunny sticking out of the sunroof.
Driving to the mountains to play in the snow.
Putting up with extreme forgetfulness.
Answering the phone late at night to listen to the ranting of a crazy person.

Hugging in silence when there are no words.
Driving to Vegas on whim to witness a wedding.
Providing a place for your friends to live when life's surprises hit.
Loving your friend's children like they are your own.
Going grocery shopping and splitting the bill.
Taking trips together and creating memories.
Praying for one another.
Being able to Laugh at each other.
Respecting each other's differences.
Watching each other's babies become young adults.
Growing old together no matter the distance between the two.
