I can't begin to imagine the fear and sadness that would fill my heart upon hearing the news that my child could very well die without treatment for his or her cancer.
On the other hand, the news of a 90% success rate with treatment would be cause for high hopes. Still, what would I do if chemotherapy went against everything I believed?
Was Colleen right to run? It is after all, a court order that her son be treated with chemotherapy. Is this child endangerment?
So many questions so few answers and yet I can't help but feel torn between anger and compassion for her decision to run with her child. At the very least, she should contact her husband.
I can't help but wonder how Daniel feels about all of this. Does he agree with his mother's choice of treatment if not, would she bring him home and concede to his wishes? I would certainly hope so.
My prayer is that Colleen would set her fears and thoughts aside, bring her child home, and include Daniel's father in this decision if he truly does not know their whereabouts' as claimed.
At age 13 and a 90% recovery rate, there is a lot of life left to be lived.
One thing is for sure she has broken the law; upon arrest, she will face child endagerment and kidnapping charges. Maybe she is okay with that but will she be able to live with herself in the event that her son die without chemotherapy?
For now, I am praying for a father's plea to be granted.
Yes, so many questions so few answers.
