A Love Letter in Song to my Far Away Husband

I am always amazed at how my children can have a meaningful and well-articulated conversation using nothing but lines from movies they have seen over the years. Looking back, we may have let them watch one too many hours of TV.
"Cool Runnings" and "Cop and a Half" are the big winners for the most lines used in any given conversation.
Even though this is the norm around my house, I am shocked to realize this method of conversation has taken its toll on my psyche. This morning I found myself compiling bits and pieces of songs to include in the letter I am writing to my husband – I know this is a dangerous thing for me, but I started thinking – why not write the letter using words to various songs? If I thought I was losing my mind without him home, this leaves no doubt – no mind left whatsoever.
So why I am making a public spectacle of myself, I don't know – how could I – I have no mind. Please keep this in your mind as you read. On the other hand, I could be sharing this because in the deep recesses of my subconscious thoughts, I am actually reaching out for help! Do I spare my husband such a letter? Maybe you could set me straight, or add a few songs that I cannot think of at the moment.
I must warn you, my musical tastes are as scattered as my –no longer a brain – brain is. Don't be surprised if you see oldies from the 60's (cholo music in my understanding), 70's – 80's disco, theme songs from my favorite Broadway musicals, rock, and for his sake, a country (yuck) line or two.
And now without further ado, I give you my love letter in song to my far away husband.
Hello Stranger (shoo –bop, my baby oooo),
You're a thousand miles away while that wheel in the sky keeps on turnin'. I have two questions, when will I see you again and will you still love me, tomorrow?
I hope you know that you really got a hold on me and I appreciate how hard you work for the money, so hard for it honey.
You are the sunshine of my life and these five words I swear to you, I''ll be there for you – you are the wind beneath my wings.
So don't worry, be happy man, dance and shout – shake your body down to the ground because we'll be together forever, and ever amen!
Hang on to your love, love – just 6 more days and that sweet child of mine will be leaving on a jet plane to come be with her daddy.
In the still of the night thoughts of you spin me round – round like a record, baby. You're my obsession I'm I yours? Check yes or no.
Have I said too much, there's nothing more I can think of to say to you (for now). I can't wait till you look in my eyes and tell me you love me.
Signed,
Forever your girl
P.S. I'm so happy to be stuck with you!
Now that every ounce of dignity has been stripped away, I would like you to know that my hubby is worth it!
Thanks for bearing with me while I bared my soul. Love really is a splendid thing.
Speak now or forever hold your peace (or is it piece).

Teresa,I loved this! I think, though, that once he gets back, you should change your tune to that of Barry White! (Should I blush?)NancyNancy, you little devil, you :-) Barry White is good. ((smirk))Glad you enjoyed! Teresa

Teresa, wonderful article, and this just shows how much you miss and love your hubby, I thought it was great. I never laugh or think someone is crazy for expressing love for each other, I bet you had fun with this one!!! And I am convinced that you are of very sound mind....I'm sorry I haven't been around for a while, but they have had me working tons of overtime....sigh....but I'm back and missed reading you guys!!!! Great heartfelt article!! Your fan, and friend .....GaryHi Gary, thanks for the vote of confidence :-) This day in age, be thankful for the overtime..and you are missed around this joint too!Blessings to you! your fan and friend, Teresa
Hi Teresa you didn`t making a public spectacle out of yourself what you did was go public with your feelings and what`s wrong in that. I loved everything about the article and your words of song, however not half as much as Art will when he reads it. Last time you were disco lady in one of your articles and now turned songstress - no end to your hidden talentKeep wellKacyHI Kacy, thanks for reading. I appreciate the comments. Art liked it - he called me a wierdo and a funny girl :-)I'm not all that talented, I have to steal other peoples lyrics :-)Many blessings to you! Teresa
"WHAT" Terasa Oritiz stealing another`s lyrics. I`m not talented the good lady say`s. To steal lyrics from under someone`s nose without them knowing is not talent you are so right - it is "pure talent" Now we know that Art liked it - it makes stealing so worth while.Keep safeKacy
Hi my dear sister! I never knew that you are so so so romantic! Lol...just kidding but.... its true...hahahahahaha.....By the way, you're not making a public spectacle but encouraging others to have that sparkling love for their spouses instead of that 'old dumb & boring love'. It is so important to make our love relationship exciting, I mean to say with our spouses only...he he he...lol...Even God wants it in our relationship with our spouses as well as with Him as a church (His bride). God loves & smiles from heaven to see husband & wife in deep love relationship. And He also feels sad when they are not in love or separation or divorce. You know sister! you helped me to think of a different level of love for my wife because you shared your love for your husband.I hope the separated spouses read this and think of reuniting instead of divorce.God bless you so much for being so romantic for your hubby because God wants it & loves it.Hi Chiradeep, thank you for the kind words.I am so glad this inspired you to renew the love for your beautiful Asmita! And I pray with you too, that others are encouraged as well.Blessings to you! Teresa
I tried to think of one you missed, but couldn't--unless maybe you could Tie a Yellow Ribbon round the old Oak Tree.Hang in there Ms. Teresa.SandraThanks so much Sandra, just a few more weeks! You know, I do have an old oak tree in my yard :-) Although I really wish I could knock three times on the ceiling...I know he wouldn't knock twice on the pipe :-)Blessings to you! Teresa
